Flos Luminator Floor Lamp
Designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1954, Luminator lamp
represents a visionary and ambitious approach to industrial design that
challenged the aesthetic standards of the 1950s. At a time when floor
lamps were bulky and ornate, Luminator emerged as a slender metal tube
resting on a thin tripod, achieving a state of absolute abstraction and
foreshadowing the minimalist movement that would dominate decades later.
For its groundbreaking nature, the lamp was honored with the Compasso
d’Oro award in 1955 and is now part of the permanent collection of MoMA
in New York.
Available upon order in anthracite, light blue, white, red
and yellow.
