Paolo Cappello is a prominent Italian industrial designer born in Verona in 1980. Known for a minimalist philosophy that focuses on essential forms and functionality, he has collaborated with major international brands to create iconic pieces of modern furniture.
He graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano. After graduating, he spent three years collaborating with the renowned design duo Ludovica and Roberto Palomba in Milan. In 2007, he returned to Verona to establish his own independent studio, Paolo Cappello Design, where he works on architecture, graphics, and communication alongside product design. He also contributes to the online edition of Rolling Stone magazine, writing a column dedicated to design.
Cappello is best known for his long-standing collaboration with the Italian brand Miniforms. Some of his most celebrated designs include Caruso, a music cabinet featuring a large ceramic horn; Superpop, a collection of versatile coffee tables made from recycled polyethylene; Tototò, a series of low tables handcrafted from terracotta; and the Zero Lamp, a minimalist lighting collection.
His work has received numerous international accolades, including the Young & Design Award and the Elle Decor Young Designer Talent. His designs have been featured in major publications like the New York Times, Elle Decor, and Abitare.
