Sergio Bicego
Sergio Bicego is an established Italian furniture designer born in Vicenza in 1953. After abandoning classical studies to work in the upholstery sector, he opened his own independent studio in 1991. His career was largely defined by his 1993 meeting with Amelia Pegorin of Saba Italia, a partnership that helped evolve the brand into a leader of contemporary design.

His work is driven by the concept of "informal flexibility," creating seating systems that are modular and adaptable to the user's movements. His most famous contribution to the design world is the Pixel sofa (2010), which allows for infinite configurations. Other notable creations include the My Taos sofa, the metropolitan New York collection, and his collaborations with brands like Bonaldo and Alberta Pacific Furniture. His pieces are frequently recognized for balancing high-end aesthetic research with practical, "nomadic" functionality.
