Erwan Bouroullec is a renowned French designer born in 1976 who rose to
global fame through a prolific partnership with his brother, Ronan.
After studying at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts de Paris-Cergy,
he joined his brother’s studio in 1999, where they redefined modern
furniture by blending industrial precision with organic forms.
Collaborating with industry giants like Vitra, HAY, and Samsung, he
helped create iconic pieces such as the Algue system and the Palissade
collection.
His work is characterized by a deep interest in modularity
and technical flexibility, earning him prestigious awards like the
Compasso d'Oro and the London Design Medal.
In 2023, he established his
own independent studio in Paris. His designs are held in the permanent
collections of major global institutions, including the MoMA in New
York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Victoria & Albert Museum
in London.
